
Athens Area Weekend Roundup! June 14-16th
Happy Weekend! This weekend is a great time to celebrate both Father’s Day and Juneteenth. We have a couple great events to celebrate Juneteenth this weekend such as pageants, block parties, and an awards ceremony celebrating Hip-Hop culture. We also have lots of fun ways to celebrate Fathers Day, such as donuts, crawfish, and a drive in movie. We hope you have an amazing weekend.

Juneteenth events:
Juneteenth Celebration: Join us for a Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday, June 15 at 11:00 am, featuring community speakers, a flag raising, and a march to a block party with vendors, live music, a fashion show, and more. Miss Black Northeast Georgia Teen Pageant: The Miss Black Northeast Georgia Teen Pageant takes place on Saturday, June 15 at 4:00 pm. Miss Juneteenth Pageant:The Miss Juneteenth Pageant 2024 will be held on Saturday, June 15 at 5:00 pm. This inaugural event aims to empower young girls with confidence, positive self-esteem, and inner beauty. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Athens Hip Hop Award: On Saturday, June 15 at 7:00 pm, the Athens Hip Hop Awards will celebrate Athens’ hip-hop culture, including music artists, business owners, and supporters. The event runs from 7 to 11:30 p.m., with tickets priced at $20. For more information, visit www.athenshiphopawards.com.

Crawfish Fest: Crawfish Fest is happening on Saturday, June 15 at 11:00 am, featuring fresh Louisiana crawfish, live music, carnival games, kids activities, and more. Celebrate Mud Day: Celebrate Mud Day on Saturday, June 15 at 2:00 pm. Enjoy playing in the mud, making mud pies, and creating mud art, with a wash station available before heading home.
