Deck the Hollow: From 5:30-7:30 all weekend come walk around bear Hollow Zoo to see all the animals in their holiday spirit! The Zoo also has local vendors, animal encounters, and plenty of photo ops. Tickets are only $5 and sold at the gate. Visit the website here!
Legacy: Vince Dooley: Head over to the Special Collections library from 8am-5pm on Friday. Explore original artifacts and rare photos that celebrate Vince Dooley’s amazing career as a coach and pay tribute to the many things he improved in and around the community. Shop Small Crawl: Come support locally female owned businesses in the Athens area all weekend! Each day of the weekend focuses on a different neighborhood, Friday in the Barber area, Saturday with businesses along Baxter, and Sunday with businesses from downtown. There will be lots of fun activities with all the local businesses and even a raffle! Friday and Saturday runs from 4-8pm, and Sunday is 12pm-4.
Winter WonderLights: presented by the UGA office of the President. Come visit the Botanical Gardens for their annual Winter WonderLights. A fully accessible half a mile path to walk through while admiring gorgeous holiday lights. There is also hot cocoa and roasted marshmallows available along your walk. Purchase your tickets here!
Athens on Ice: The Classic Center has opened up its Public Ice Skating again! Get in some skates and get in the holiday spirit with your family and friends. Tickets must be purchased ahead online and you can do so with this link – purchase your tickets here!
SEC Championship Watch Party: Its SEC Championship time Dawg fans! Come watch the big game vs. Bama this Saturday at Athentic Brewing Company with UGA Athens Area Alumni. Arrive early so you can secure a seat and take your selection of craft beers, hard slushes, jello shots and more!
Handmade Hollyday Market: Calling adult and kid artist alike, come show your skill and see others at the Handmade Hollyday artist market! The event spans over Saturday and Sunday with local artist, handmade gifts and food trucks! Visit the website here.
